Mindful of the role social media plays in enhancing public service and community relations, the Manila City Council adopted a resolution urging all barangays in the city to establish and maintain their official social media accounts, accessible to constituents on a 24/7 basis. Authored by Councilor Numero “Uno” Lim of the Second District, the resolution was passed swiftly by the Council at a regular session held on Thursday, 23 November 2023, sans objection from any member.

At a regular session held last Thursday, 16 November 2023, the City Council of Manila adopted two resolutions accrediting the Samar G Tuazon Tricycle Operators and Drivers’ Association (SGT TODA), Inc. and the  Associates of Urban Poor, Inc. (AUPI) as a people’s organization and non-governmental organization, respectively. Both organizations are based in Manila and registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The 12th City Council of Manila passed on third and final reading Thursday, 12 October 2023, an ordinance mandating the installation of audible traffic signals, with Braille-labeled push buttons, on city-owned pedestrian traffic lights. The measure aims to benefit the elderly, pregnant women, and persons with disabilities that use signal-controlled crossings in Manila.
