Last Tuesday, 5 December 2023, the Manila City Council passed two resolutions commemorating milestones in the country’s diplomatic relations with Norway and the Czech Republic, as well as Manila’s sister-city relationship with the City of Prague.
The year 2023 marks 75 and 50 years of fruitful diplomatic relations with Norway and the Czech Republic, respectively, fostering cooperation in various fields including, energy, information technology, trade, culture, and education, noted Resolutions 611 and 612, both authored by Second District Councilor Numero “Uno” Lim.
Prague, meanwhile, the capital and largest city of the Czech Republic, became a sister city of Manila with the City Council’s passage of Resolution 42 on 18 February 2021.
“The citizens of Manila should participate in activities and support programs that serve to further enhance our friendly relations with both countries, which have withstood the test of time”, said Lim on the sidelines of the session.
