The city government of Manila will always provide a great training ground for students preparing themselves for future employment.
Last Tuesday, 18 July 2023, the City Council adopted a resolution authorizing Mayor Maria Sheilah “Honey” Lacuna-Pangan to enter into a “work immersion” agreement with the Holy Heart Christian Academy, Inc., under which senior high school students of the latter may undergo on-the-job training at various offices in the city government.
The agreement—the latest among many between Manila and various schools—is part of a broader internship program in the city government for senior high school and college students in the city.
“The program provides students with relevant learning experience by exposing them to an actual workplace setting. It helps develop their capacity to meet the needs of the job market, while instilling in them the value of public service,” remarked Third District Councilor Ernesto “Jong” Isip, Jr., who introduced the resolution.
The Manila Public Employment Service Office will be in charge of implementing the agreement.
