The City Council of Manila commended the Ires Children’s Choir of Isabelo de los Reyes Elementary School, following a first place finish in the recent Himig Bulilit Regional Festival of Talents.
In a resolution unanimously passed on Thursday, 13 July 2023, the Council cited the choir for beating 14 other contenders from all over Metro Manila, en route to the upcoming National Festival of Talents in Cagayan de Oro City, where it will be representing the entire National Capital Region.
“They are now part of a long list of talented homegrown singers and artists in the majestic City of Manila.”, said Councilor Irma Alfonso-Juson, who authored the resolution together with Councilors Pamela “Fa” Fugoso-Pascual and Joel “JTV” T. Villanueva. “We must support our talented Batang Manileños in order to help them hone their skills and reach their full potential”, added the legislator from the First District of Manila.
The Ires Children’s Choir is composed of four pupils, one trainer, and a school head.
